MAROOCHYDORE Assets have taken out first place in their category at the 2015-16 Team Navy Australian Surf Rowers League Series held in Manly, NSW.

The Under 23 Female champions were among more than 200 crews, made of 1000 competitors who travelled from across NSW and Australia for the competition at the weekend.

Competitors faced tough conditions as big swell rolled in, battering rowers and overturning boats. 

The race distance of 400m with wet starts and finishes ensured tight racing with crews determined to start fast through the break to set themselves up for a good finish.

The 2015-16 Team Navy Australian Surf Rowers League Series consists of 29 events around Australia from November 2015 to March 2016 and are held on some of the country's premier beaches.
