Messi double puts Barca into last 16
FOOTBALL: Lionel Messi made light of his illness by scoring a double to help Barcelona ease into the knockout stage of the Champions League for a 13th successive year with a 2-0 win at Celtic.
Messi missed the goalless draw with Malaga on Saturday with a bug, but was back to his best at Celtic Park.
A constant threat throughout the match alongside Brazilian teammate Neymar, the Argentinian backed up a first-half strike from close range with a penalty after the break.
The brace took Messi's Champions League total to 92 goals - including nine in this season's group stages alone.
"In one of the toughest groups, we have come top. I have to congratulate the team,” said Barcelona coach Luis Enrique.
