My Kitchen Rules' top five teams prepare for ultimate cook
VICTORIAN siblings Mitch and Laura are the favourites to win My Kitchen Rules after the final five teams were determined tonight.
Best mates Chris and Cookie were eliminated from the reality cooking show after failing to make an impressive dish based on the unusual combination of basil and raspberry.
Then in a closely-contested sudden death they lost out to serial cook-off survivors Carmine and Lauren, who picked themselves up yet again with a white chocolate and raspberry tart.
"We found out things about each other we didn't know. After 40 years (of friendship) we wouldn't have thought there was anything left but there was," Chris said.
An emotional Cookie added that their time on the show was an experience money couldn't buy.
Mother and son Anna and Jordan are considered Mitch and Laura's biggest competition for the show's $250,000 grand prize.
But sisters Tasia and Gracia could the dark horses after impressing the judges tonight with their "smart" black pudding scotch egg with rhubarb mayonnaise.
The remaining five teams will return their homes starting tomorrow night to host their ultimate instant restaurants for hosts and judges Pete Evans and Manu Feildel.
The amateur cooks will be keen to show how much they've learned since their debuts on the show more than two months ago.
