Nine years for killing girlfriend

A MAN who stabbed his pregnant girlfriend to death with a kitchen knife will spend at least nine-and-a-half years in jail.

Sydney Supreme Court Justice Peter Hall sentenced Christopher John Anderson yesterday to 12 years and nine months behind bars for the 2013 manslaughter of Allira Green, with a non-parole period of nine-and-a-half years.

Justice Hall dismissed Anderson's claim his 23-year-old girlfriend had "provoked" the attack.
