Elderly man's stand off with cops over unpaid $200
NOEL Chappell, 68, paid a hefty price for damaging a $79 phone.
The Rockhampton Magistrates Court yesterday heard on October 14 the retiree confiscated the phone and bank card of a woman who he said owed him $200.
When police were called to the Berserker home about 12.20am Chappell refused them entry before they forced the door open.

The court heard the man shouted "if you want me to smash your phone here, I will".
Police warned he would be charged, but Chappell threw it on the ground and stomped it.
He was charged with wilful damage and obstruct police and fined $750 for both and ordered to pay $79 restitution for the phone.
