No making up for prolonged drought, but beauty tour a help
AS ONE of two salons selected from throughout Queensland, Shea Beauty welcomed the expertise of a key Napoleon Perdis director and artist who wanted to spread makeup and cheer to those hardest hit by the drought.
Earlier this year, the cosmetic brand changed ownership and since then has been making ongoing changes including sending Nathan Kake, head of creative and makeup artist on a national tour.
Brooke Wuersching, who owns Shea Beauty – the Skin and Beauty Clinic, said it had been an honour to have Nathan visit her salon.
“He is a famous makeup artist working on clients such as Cindy Crawford, runway models in Hollywood, is head artist for fashion shows across Australia, New York and Hollywood,” she said.
“He also covers ‘The Voice’ cast, up and coming models, and so many more.
“He visited only two places in Queensland, and of all the stockists and stores, he picked our small country town salon, because he wanted to lift up the ladies in the time of drought.”
Ms Wuersching said the night had been an incredible success.
“We were so excited to see the town get behind us in welcoming Nathan,” she said.
“We have created a great relationship with him, which has given us more exciting opportunities”
Mr Kake said he was honoured to have made the trip out west.
“I’m in love with this cute little town and the ladies in it,” he said.
“The team of Shea Beauty are incredible. The salon is simply gorgeous and I can’t believe it’s located this far away from the city.
“I’ll definitely be coming back.”
Manager Sharon Saunders said she couldn’t believe it when she heard the news her salon had been selected.
“We will be forever grateful for the opportunity Napoleon Perdis has given us,” she said.
“The night was held at the salon, with a full house of ladies from St George and surrounding areas.
“Nathan passed his makeup knowledge on, covering the bases of skincare, correct base, coverage, placement of colours, best tools to use, what to look out for in a good quality makeup product, and more.”
