One of M'boro's heroes to be inducted into hall of fame

ONE of Maryborough's favourite sons is set to be inducted into Queensland's basketball hall of fame.

Larry Sengstock and nine other Queensland basketball greats will be inducted into the Queensland Basketball Hall of Fame this month.

The inductees, who were nominated by their home associations, come from all sections of the basketball community: players, officials, coaches and volunteers and have all made a considerable contribution to the sport.

The 2016 inductees where selected by The Queensland Basketball Honours and Awards Committee in this the Queensland Basketball Hall of Fame's second iteration.

Larry had a highly renowned, multi-award winning basketball career where he has represented Australia on both a national and international scale.

He has represented the country 293 times at both a Junior and Senior level, and competed at the World Championships and Olympic Games.

His career with the Australian National Basketball League is also celebrated, with Sengstock taking home five NBL Championships and the Annual NBL MVP Medal is named in his honour.

Larry's valuable contributions to basketball make him a very worthy member of the Class of 2016 Queensland Basketball Hall of Fame.
