Packer's Sydney Casino approved
JAMES Packer's planned $1.5 billion Crown Sydney casino has been approved by the New South Wales Planning Assessment Commission.
The decision paves the way for the NSW Government to green-light the project.
The approval was made on the basis of changes to the harbour-side casino - including moving it 30m away from the water to increase public space. In a statement, the commission said it had "concluded that with the design changes made ... the proposed scale and form of Crown Sydney will be a sculptural and elegant signature building on the foreshore".
