Toowoomba taekwondo black belt kicks bullies to the kerb
TAEKWONDO master Paul Mitchell has made it his life's mission to help children who have been bullied.
Mr Mitchell entered a competition to be a part of This is your Life Change television show in the hopes of being able to turn his dream of helping children world-wide into a reality.
He has just been announced as a semi-finalist.
Mr Mitchell said he was bullied for most of his school life and founded United Taekwondo as a way to help children in the same situation.
"I have developed a program that changes the way a child deals with bullies," Mr Mitchell said.

"I see the difference that martial arts principles have made to my students and I want to share this with the world.
"Bullying is an insidious disease in our society which impacts on a child's ability to learn and make friendships from an early age.

"Martial arts teaches children respect and gives them discipline, but most of all it gives them self-confidence which empowers young children," he said.
If Mr Mitchell receives enough votes from the public, he will be one of six people who will spend two weeks on a remote Fijian Island learning how to put their plan into action with the help of a life coach, personal trainer and business coach.
He said he was determined to make it to the island.
"On my return I'll be ready to make a huge difference to young people that need my support to stand up to bullies," Mr Mitchell said.
Voting closes on Saturday.
