
Police arrest thieves after spate of stealing
CHARLEVILLE police arrested two men on May 21 for the break-ins that happened in Charleville last week after an ongoing investigation into cash stolen from two business premises.
A 24-year-old man was charged with two entering premises and committing an indictable offence, four serious assault charges and one possession of a knife in a public place.
His accomplice, a 27-year-old man was charged with two entering premises and committing an indictable offence.
The men broke into Ergon Energy depot on Bentwell St last Monday between the hours of 8pm and Tuesday 7am and a business premises in the early hours of last Tuesday between 3.30 - 7am.
Charleville police senior sergeant Michael Symes told the Western Times that both men appeared in the Charleville Magistrates Court on May 25 and were remanded in custody to appear in the Charleville Magistrates Court on June 17.
