Police charge five motorists with drink, drug driving

POLICE have charged five motorists with drink driving and drug driving offences in Goondiwindi, including one woman who was allegedly double the legal alcohol limit.

The 39-year-old woman was pulled over for a random breath test on Russell St at 10am on Sunday.

The Boggabilla resident allegedly had a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.106.

Her licence has been suspended and she will appear in Goondiwindi Magistrates Court on February 17.

Just an hour-and-a-half earlier, police charged a 24-year-old Tenterfield man with drink driving.

The man was pulled over on Marshall St and allegedly returned a BAC of 0.086.

His licence was also suspended and he will appear in Goondiwindi Magistrates Court on February 17.

On Saturday, police charged two people with drug driving.

A 24-year-old Goondiwindi man and a 44-year-old Warwick man had their licences suspended and will appear in Goondiwindi Magistrates Court on February 17.

A 43-year-old Goondiwindi woman was also charged with drink driving, after she was pulled over on Marshall St on Friday night.

She allegedly had a BAC of 0.054 and will also appear in Goondiwindi Magistrates Court on February 17.
