A 29-year-old male Constable from the Northern Police Region was arrested and suspended from official duty with the Queensland Police Service on Sunday April 17, for two counts of rape and one count of assault.

The arrest is a result of an investigation into a complaint made to police by a woman on Saturday morning, April 16.

The investigation and arrest has been conducted by members of the Ethical Standards Command.

The officer will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
