Police step up search to find missing woman Christa

UPDATE 11AM: A CCTV image of missing Lismore woman Christa Crewe was taken at the Mary Gilhooley's bottle shop, not the Rous Hotel bottle shop as previously reported.

Police released the image yesterday and believe that Ms Crewe may be in the Brunswick Heads area.

Rous Hotel licensee Michael Bulmer called the Northern Star this morning to say some of his staff had seen it reported on TV last night that Ms Crewe was last seen at the Rous Hotel.

"That's not our counter in the photo," Mr Bulmer said.

"I have been asking all my staff if they had seen Ms Crewe and they haven't."

THURSDAY 5.30AM: POLICE have stepped up their search for missing woman Christa Crewe releasing CCTV footage of her leaving a Lismore hotel.

The footage shows her at a bottle shop on Tuesday, April 12.

She was wearing a green singlet top and grey pants and had sunglasses on and her long blond hair out.

Police are also desperately searching for her car, which is a maroon Honda CRV with registration plate CE31UY.

This follows extra search efforts by her daughter, Leanne Crewe, who has been travelling up and down the coast and hinterland looking for her mother.

Police believe the Christa may have been staying in the vicinity of Brunswick Heads.

Anyone with information should phone Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
