After the man was shot the officers tried to administer first aid.

Three other deaths in the same period, on the Gold Coast, in Brisbane's Inala and northern suburb of Kippa Ring will also form part of the inquest.

News Limited reports the Queensland Police Union has welcomed the announcement.

Queensland Police Service has already run its own investigations into the incidents, which included  a review of police training.
