Car fire causes delays for commuters

POLICE have warned delays for motorists on the M1 at Beenleigh following reports of a vehicle on fire.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said the report came from the Distillery Rd off ramp northbound on the Pacific Motorway near exit 35.

The QFES spokeswoman said one fire crew attended the scene where the vehicle was well alight, and have managed to extinguish the blaze.

Police warn drivers to expect lengthy delays this morning.
