Human remains found in search for murdered NQ woman
HUMAN remains have been found just hours into the search for missing Innisfail woman Leeann Lapham.
Police and SES began searching an area on a hillside on private property on Cowley Beach Rd, about 20km south of Innisfail.

Far North police Det Insp Geoff Marsh said it appeared the remains were human.

Ms Lapham's partner Graeme Evans pleaded guilty to manslaughter and
interference with a corpse in the Cairns Supreme Court yesterday, a year after his arrest which cracked the eight-year-old cold case.
He then led police to the scene yesterday afternoon.

Ms Lapham, 30, was last seen entering a room at Innisfail's Riverside Motel in April 2010.
Her mother Kerry Johnson was in court for Evans' plea yesterday, while her son Bradley, who was just three weeks old when she disappeared, is due to turn eight soon.
