UPDATE 1.30pm: A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said there were no patients requiring medical assistance after the truck fire at Glenview this afternoon.

It appears all involved managed to escape the cabin before the blaze took hold.

Traffic is now flowing again.

Earlier:

BYSTANDERS have described hearing explosions and seeing huge flames erupt after a truck fire at Glenview at about 12.20pm.

The truck, reportedly carrying paint and other liquid, was believed to have taken the northbound Bruce Hwy exit and stopped near the Sandale Saddlery, before the cabin ignited and the truck caught ablaze.

It's believed the driver and two others managed to escape the vehicle, with reports of explosions and flames at least 30m high coming from the blaze, near Glenview Rd and Frizzo Rd.

Emergency services are on scene at present.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible as the scene is made safe, with reports the northbound exit is currently causing traffic delays.

Updates to follow.
