Robbed servo owner has 'few choice words' for thieves
THE owner of a service station broken into early this morning wants to "exchange a few choice words" with the offenders and has appealed for help to identify them.
The BP service station on Campbell St in Oakey was broken into about 12.30am when four people rifled through the store, taking cash and mobile phones.
In a post on social media, management said a "visitor and three of his mates decided to do a little after hours bargain hunting", after smashing their way through the front door triggering the alarm.
"They had just enough time to grab a few mobile phones and a small amount of cash before scurrying away in (a) car," the post, which included a still image from CCTV footage of one of the intruders and a car, read.
"The police would like to speak with them… we would like to speak with them too and exchange a few choice words."
The CCTV images are date and time stamped.
The store owner appealed for Oakey residents to share the post and report any information to authorities who are investigating the robbery.
The same post hit out at the offenders.
"Our little town has had enough of this type of unwelcome activity, and it's time for it to stop," it read.
