Roma police reveal Christmas domestic violence statistics
Roma police have come across fewer domestic violence incidents in town during December, compared to the rest of 2020.
Sergeant Chris Keenan said domestic violence incidents were down during the Christmas month with only 10 incidents reported so far.
And even with a few days left of the month, it is still poised to be quite low by the time new years comes around.
Sergeant Keenan said the next lowest month for Roma was October, with police dealing with 12 domestic violence incidents.
But there was a spike in both August and November, both hitting 27 reported incidents.
These statistics include domestic violence order applications, domestic violence incidents where police attended, and serious nonviolent domestic disputes.
