Sea Eagles wings clipped by injury

INJURY has grounded one of Manly's most improved players this season, with second rower Curtis Sironen not expected to feature until the last game of the regular NRL season.

Sironen is set for surgery to repair a pectoral tear he suffered attempting to tackle Jack Bird in the Sea Eagles recent win over Cronulla.

The loss of the former Wests Tigers player is a massive blow to a Manly side that is in the top four for the first time since 2014.

Sironen who has been pencilled in to face the Penrith Panthers in round 26 scored two tries against the Sharks in one of his best performances for Manly since moving to the northern beaches.
