Second day of deliberations for murder jury
JURY deliberations continued on Wednesday in the trial of a man accused of murdering his best mate.
Paul Gathercole was accused of murdering Coffs Harbour man Robbie Joseph Charles at a Gold Coast unit in 2014.
The trial came to an end on Monday when lawyers finished their closing arguments.
The jury deliberated briefly that afternoon.
On Tuesday the jury asked the judge technical legal questions before returning to deliberations and this continued throughout Wednesday.
Mr Gathercole was accused of stabbing Mr Charles in the stomach after an argument.
During the trial, which started last week, evidence emerged that Mr Gathercole had admitted to police that he had "stabbed my best mate".
The jury is still deciding whether Mr Gathercole intended to kill Mr Charles.
