Seeing the snow a thrill

YEAR 6 students of Dalby South State School have spent the week visiting some of Australia's most iconic landmarks on their South to Slopes trip.

About 70 excited students boarded the buses in Dalby on Sunday afternoon for the week-long trip, which would take them to Sydney, Canberra, Cooma, Perisher and Dubbo.

Dalby South deputy principal Kate Paynter said the students were visiting a number of exciting locations like Parliament House, Government House, Sydney Harbour Bridge, the National Maritime Museum and Dubbo zoo.

"The trip links very closely with what they're learning in their curriculum in terms of government and social sciences,” Mrs Paynter said,

"There will also be lots of 'first times' for many students, like seeing snow for the first time,” she said.
