New Kia Sportage revealed before 2016 launch
KIA has revealed images of its all-new Sportage SUV before its global debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month.
This fourth-generation Sportage features the design language seen in other new models in its range, which Kia said echoes the "contrast of smooth and sharp shapes found on some of the most iconic modern fighter jets".
The front end brings the most substantial design changes over the outgoing Sportage, with headlamps no longer integrated with the grille, instead sweeping back along the outer edges of the bonnet.
Kia's recognisable 'tiger nose' grille has been made wider and placed lower, while chunkier wheel arches, a longer wheelbase and a more raked profile join the party.
The new SUV's back end has been inspired by the 2013 Kia Provo concept car, with slimmer combination lamps and indicator and reversing lights relocated lower down the sharp rear.
The new 2016 Sportage's cabin and engine line-up haven't been revealed, but we can expect such news closer to the Korean SUV's local on sale date in early 2016.
