Southwest drag club searching for suspected stolen ute
The search is on for a suspected stolen vehicle that has been taken from a southwest race track in the past weeks.
A white Toyota Landcruiser that belongs to the South West Drag Racing Association disappeared from the IronBark Raceway in Roma sometime after the race meet on February 13.
Member Darcy Nichols said the vehicle has numerous stickers, white writing on the tyres, a watertank ring on the back, and is not registered.
“We’re a club – we don’t have the money to replace a vehicle like that,” Mr Nichols said.
“It was donated by Mohr’s Garage, they’re a bit upset about what’s happened.”
Mr Nichols said they noticed the car missing when members gathered for a working bee, and the matter was reported to police.
Anyone with information should contact police.
IronBark canteen incident
Roma police Sergeant Chris Keenan said they’ve received reports of unknown offenders entering IronBark Raceway between 2.30pm on March 6 and 11am on March 7.
He said the alleged offenders damaged the door to the canteen.
“Offenders have decamped, investigations continuing,” Sergeant Keenan said.
