TAMBO police have charged two people after 18.5kg of cannabis was discovered during a routine traffic stop on Sunday afternoon.

At 2.45pm police intercepted a Mazda CX3 heading along Arthur St, Tambo.

It is alleged the officers searched the vehicle and located 18.5kg of cannabis, a restricted drug and a sum of money.

A 48-year-old man is scheduled to appear in Charleville Magistrate's Court today, charged with possessing dangerous drugs, unlawful possession of restricted drugs, possessing anything used in the commission of a crime, and failing to take reasonable care and precautions in respect of a syringe or needle.

A 31-year-old Parramatta park woman is scheduled to appear in Charleville's Magistrate's Court tomorrow, charged with possessing dangerous drugs, unlawful possession of restricted drugs and possessing anything used in the commission of a crime.

Police estimate the street value of the drugs to be between $180,000 and $450,000.
