Teenager caught drink-driving wearing school uniform

A TEENAGE drink-driver, who recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.107%, has been fined $750 and disqualified from driving for 12 months.

Fletcher Alexander James Stafford, 17, pleaded guilty in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Friday to drink-driving.

The court heard Stafford was dressed in his school uniform at the time of the offence.

He was reversing a car in a car park off Carlton St on April 21 in Rockhampton when found by police.

Stafford admitted to drinking the night before but he said it had been about six hours since his last drink.

Magistrate Michael O'Driscoll reminded him that as a P-plater he was not allowed any alcohol in his system.

"At your age, it is a concern," Mr O'Driscoll said.
