Family's heartbreak after death of baby Zoe

TOOWOOMBA parents Scott and Laura Chisholm have reached out to supporters following the journey of their baby Zoe Grace who fought for 257 days.

Zoe was born at the Toowoomba Base Hospital on August 17 and immediately transferred to the Royal Brisbane and put on a ventilator.

She was then taken to the Lady Cilento Children's Hospital where she was diagnosed with congenital myopathy, a muscle disorder and life-threatening condition for which there is no treatment.

Zoe died on Saturday, April 30.

In a message to their crowd funding Go Fund Me page her devoted parents said little Zoe was loved "from the very first moment we knew you existed".

"If our love was enough you would have lived forever."

The Go Fund Me page had been set up by friends of the family to help with costs involved in Zoe's ongoing care.

Scott and Laura had lived at Ronald McDonald House to be with their baby daughter throughout her Brisbane stay.

The family returned home to Toowoomba earlier this year, saying Zoe had settled at home.

She battled through several viruses after returning home but continued to show her cheeky side throughout the tough times.

"We can not thank everyone enough who has contributed to this fund and allowed us to spend every day with Zoe," they said.

More than $34,000 has been raised for the family by 400 people, money that will now go towards the cost of Zoe's funeral.
