Watch as baby whale plays with its mum

A WHALE calf was spotted playing with its mother off Tangalooma Island Resort on Moreton Island earlier today. 

The calf breaches the water next to its mother before swimming back down into the sea. 

Whale sightings are common at this time of year as the sea-borne mammals make their way from the cold waters of Antarctica to warmer areas for winter. 

Famous white whale Migaloo grabbed national attention yesterday as the rare specimen passed by the Tweed Coast and into Queensland waters.
