WATCH: Maranoa residents sight strange object through the sky

Is it a bird, or a plane, or a bunch of Chinese space junk burning up in the sky?

Roma’s social media users have reported a bright object visible from Queensland that could be seen on February 25, but the community has been puzzling over what it is.

Some users of Roma Community Discussion believed it was an asteroid, and early reports from Higgins Storm Chasing suggested it was space junk burning up.

Members also reported it breaking into two things.

But now, the storm chasers believe it is the Chinese Long March 3B Rocket entering back into Earth’s atmosphere, after being launched on November 4, 2019.

Maranoa woman Tash Wilson captured the moment the remains were visible crashing through the atmosphere.

Roma Community Discussion user Tia Howson also captured it burning up across the sky.

Many Queenslanders outside of the southwest have also noticed the rocket, with the Fraser Coast Chronicle reporing residents of the Sunshine Coast, Hervey Bay, and Bundaberg also witnessed the rare sight.
