Will Skelton signs contract extension with ARU

AT 203cm and 140kg, Wallabies lock Will Skelton is hard to miss.

And Australian rugby fans will get to see plenty more of the powerhouse forward after he signed a contract extension with the ARU until the end of 2017.

"I've been working extremely hard throughout the year on all areas of my game to make me a complete 80-minute player," the 22-year-old said.

"Moving forward, we've got a great coaching staff at the Waratahs and I really think they'll offer the best program for me to reach my full potential at both Super Rugby and Test level."

Skelton has earned eight Test caps since scoring a try on debut against France in Sydney last June.

He will be in contention for a spot on the bench when Wallabies coach Michael Cheika names his team today for the opening Rugby Championship match against South Africa in Brisbane on Saturday night.
