Woman charged with abusing 000 staff 153 times

A WOMAN who allegedly made 153 calls to triple zero in January to swear and threaten staff has been changed by police.

The 32-year-old Aitkenvale was charged with 21 counts of using a carriage service to menace, harass or cause offence.

The woman was arrested yesterday and faced the Townsville Magistrates Court this morning, where bail was refused.

She will next face court on April 24.

Constable Ashley Seymour said police wanted to remind the public that the triple zero service was for emergency calls only.
