Woman falls off shopping centre escalator

UPDATE 3PM: A WOMAN has been taken to hospital after falling down a shopping centre escalator this afternoon.

Queensland Ambulance Service says the woman complained of headaches following the fall at Redbank Plaza about 1.40pm.

She has been taken to the PA Hospital in a stable condition.

EARLIER: A WOMAN has sustained head injuries after falling from an escalator at a busy Ipswich shopping centre this afternoon.

Queensland Ambulance Service says the woman, initially reported to be aged in her 50s, was injured after falling at the Redbank Plaza Shopping Centre about 1.40pm.

The extent of the woman's injuries is yet to be fully assessed.
