Woman sues hotel to get name of lover after falling pregnant

A WOMAN who had a three-night rendezvous with a stranger has taken a German hotel to court to find out the man's name, to get him to pay child support.

The woman spent three nights with the man, seven years ago, in Halle, eastern Germany.

About nine months after the tryst she had a baby son, Joel.

All she knew of the man was that his name was Michael.

She launched legal action last year against the hotel to try and force it to hand over her lover's personal details, as she believes he is the father of her child and wants him to pay child support.

According to German newspaper the Abendzeitung the hotel refused to hand over the personal details of guests saying it had no legal obligation to do so.

The Munich court rejected the woman's legal request saying she has no legal right to demand the information from the hotel, The Telegraph reports.

The court also argued she didn't have enough information to be sure about the man's identity and granting her request could breach the privacy of four men named 'Michael' who were at the hotel at the time of the affair.

The verdict was made last October but only recently made public.
