A GROUP of youths smashed up more than 50 brand new cars at Peter Kittle's car dealership in Alice Springs.

The NT News understands children as young as eight were involved in the vandalism but so far only a single 14-year-old boy had been charged by police.

It is also understood the youths attempted to throw pavers through both car windows.

The incident was captured on CCTV and police want anyone with information to come forward.

Detective Acting Superintendent Peter Dash said a number of young offenders damaged the cars at 3.30am.

"Damage to the vehicles included smashed windscreens and windows, and panel damage," he said.

Police are calling for information after more than 50 cars were vandalised at Peter Kittle's car yard.
